About 1 in 175 births in the United States is a stillbirth — the loss of a baby at or after 20 weeks of pregnancy, according to the CDC. That is roughly 21,000 families every year, about one every 25 minutes. Real help exists, much of it run by people who have lived the loss themselves — but it is scattered across dozens of organizations and hard to find quickly, especially at 3 a.m., when grieving parents actually go looking.

IronMind Unbroken gives particular attention to fathers, who remain largely invisible in bereavement care. “Fathers get asked one question — ‘How is she holding up?’ — and almost never the second one,” Stoddart said. “Mothers get asked about their bodies while their whole heart is the wound. Partners grieve on different clocks and frighten each other doing it. This page exists so that at 3 a.m., both of them find a door.”
The launch comes ahead of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month in October; October 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, observed worldwide with the Wave of Light. Stoddart — a ten-time Ironman finisher and Stage 2b cancer survivor who spent decades in cybersecurity leadership — is available to speak to hospitals and healthcare teams, churches and men’s groups, and loss organizations.
